Heartland Civic Collaborative
Powered by business and civic leaders from the four Midwestern metropolitan areas of Des Moines, Kansas City, Omaha and St. Louis, the Heartland Civic Collaborative works on strategies and initiatives to strengthen the Heartland’s competitiveness in the global economy.
The Collaborative serves as the collective business voice of the four participating metros and identifies mutually-beneficial opportunities in the areas of transportation and connectivity, entrepreneurship, life sciences, and federal advocacy.
The Heartland’s geographical location in the center of the country positions the area to grow the transportation and logistics industry. We seek to take advantage of this opportunity by developing a multi-modal, integrated transportation vision.
Entrepreneurship & Human Capital
The members share best practices for promoting the creation of innovative new business models and the skilled and knowledgeable workforce needed to grow regional economies.
The Heartland region enjoys a competitive advantage in the life sciences industry, including human, animal and plant health. We seek to leverage this unique strength, through collaboration across the member regions.
Our business communities have common interests when it comes to national public policy that supports the economic competitiveness of the region. We advocate for a shared federal policy agenda, making a greater impact collectively than any one state or metro could accomplish alone.
